For as long as casinos and gambling establishments exist, there will always be people trying to cheat them. The latest cheater story out of the French Riviera is a Hollywood-style film with marked playing cards and infrared contacts.
The Telegraph reported that in 2011, a self proclaimed Italian poker player, known as “Parmesan”, won 70,000 euros at a casino on the Cote d’Azur by using a pair infrared lenses to read invisible marks on the backs the cards. He hatched the plan with two casino employees, who marked cards for him using ink that can only be seen by wearing the infrared lenses. He wore his infrared lenses to the Casino, where he sat with an accomplice that would sniff or snort when Parmesan was trying to decide which card to pick next.
The infrared glasses he used cost about $260 and were purchased from a Chinese firm online. They are available in various tint sizes and can be tinted either red or dark purple to match the majority of eye colors. They are also safe to wear over normal contact lenses and can be worn by all types of eye, including green.
In addition to these special lenses, we have a wide range of high-quality invisible ink poker contact lenses that are suitable for all types of eyes and will work with all brands of invisible ink markings on the back of the card. IR poker lens use the latest sandwich technology and laser dyeing system to produce the luminous color. These lenses will not change the color of your eyes or cause irritation. They are very thin, comfortable and won’t alter your eye color.
