Marked Cards Decryption Contact Lenses
As long as playing cards have been around, people have tried to use them for magic tricks and card cheating. The trickiest way to do this is with marked cards, but they can also be used as a cover for more serious methods of card magic. Using marks on cards allows you to ramp up the amazement factor in card tricks and makes it more difficult for an alert spectator to figure out how the trick works.
There are 3 main kinds of marked cards: magic mark decks, contact lens mark decks and barcode scanner mark decks. Magic mark decks have code markings hidden in the back design and can be read with a magnifying glass. Contact lens mark decks are invisible to naked eyes and need specialized contacts lenses or sunglasses for reading. Barcode scanner mark decks have invisible barcode markings on all 4 sides and need a special system to read them (most common is a poker analyzer smartphone). The Copag 1546 set can help you try 2 different kinds of marks at the same time to see which one works best for you.
The best way to use these lenses is to wear them during a normal action, such as giving a card to a spectator or shuffling the deck. The invisible luminous ink marks will be picked up by the lenses and displayed to your eyes, but other people won’t notice anything. These lenses are available for any eye color, but light colored lenses might not be the best choice for some people because they might make your eyes look a little darker than your natural colors.
